Founding Partner Mölnlycke Health Care will move to GoCo in 2024

Mölnlycke Health Care stands for innovation and quality. This is also a strongly contributing reason why all Gothenburg-based operations within Mölnlycke will move to GoCo Health Innovation City at the end of 2024.

Mölnlycke’s CEO Zlatko Rihter, Kristin Hedlund, Legal Counsel and General Manger Mölnlycke Health Care Gothenburg site and Anna Eckerstig, Director Real Estate Development GoCo at the Groundbreaking ceremony in June 2022.

All stakeholders in medicine and health technology have a comprehensive responsibility to help healthcare reach the next level with better products and more effective solutions.

“Our aim is to be a driving force in this development, as the healthcare system is busy taking care of patients. Together with other stakeholders, we can become even more powerful in our development process for the benefit of healthcare. This is one of the reasons why we will move the entire Gothenburg site to GoCo Health Innovation City”, says Zlatko Rihter, CEO of Mölnlycke health Care.

“We see the opportunity to, together with other organisations, be able to lead change and create synergies where one plus one becomes more than two. The move means so much more than a new office for us. It will create completely new opportunities for us to co-create with experts from other disciplines. This is also why we have become a Founding Partner for the GoCo Arena”, explains Khristin Hedlund, Executive Vice President Legal and General Manager Mölnlycke Health Care Gothenburg Site.

The move to GoCo will take the core business at Mölnlycke to the next level. It is a completely new innovation environment in Gothenburg, and the property that Mölnlycke will move into will be completely adapted to their needs.

“We see GoCo as a bag of goodies with an exciting mix of different companies in health care. Extra exciting is that there is also a strong presence of non-commercial businesses represented, with researchers from the academy among others. This made GoCo the obvious choice for us. We look forward to becoming part of an environment where openness and cooperation are key activities”, says Kristin Hedlund.

Introducing a new customer-centric strategy

Mölnlycke’s reason for existence is to improve the quality of life for patients. Innovation is, and has always been, core business. This is coined in the new strategy, which is based on an entire year of studies of real care environments and the use of Mölnlycke’s products in real-life environments.

“We have developed a customer-centric strategy, after conducting over 1000 interviews with different patient groups and health care professionals. Moreover, we have done ethnographic studies of the process in operating theatres, hospitals and health clinics. It is real needs that form the basis of our new strategy by business area, which also means a completely new way of working for us. The goal is for us to get closer to our customers and create even more benefit for patients”, Zlatko Rihter underlines.

Industry-leader in sustainability

Mölnlycke manufactures single-use products, and therefore sustainability work is even more important, according to Zlatko Rihter. He explains:

“For us, sustainability is so much more than environmental sustainability. We weave all aspects of sustainability into our value chain, with a focus on green mindset, responsible relationships and ethical business. As an example, we have incorporated all of this in a completely newly built factory in Malaysia, which is our flagship for how to work sustainably in our industry, and which sets a completely new standard for how our future factories within Mölnlycke should look”.

Mölnlycke has set out to be an industry-leader in sustainability, which in turn will attract more talent and make the company even more desirable to work for, as well as more appealing to clients within healthcare.
